Sinbe Sakakura Kiln

We will show you the kiln of Shinbe Sakakura, one of the oldest kiln and pottery family in a Hagi yaki ware culture.

The 15th Shinbe Sakakura is a prefecturally-designated important intangible cultural property of Yamaguchi.

Shinbe and his son Masahiro Sakakura’s works are really traditional but also avant‐garde .

Shinbe’s work is evaluated very much in the group of the Japanese tea ceremony.
