14th generation, Koraizaemon Saka first solo exhibition at Kyoto Takashimaya.
I went to see the first solo exhibition since the succession of the name of the 14th generation head of the Sakakoraizaemon kiln.
Sakakoraizaemon kiln is said to be the oldest kiln in Hagi, and is also called the head family of Hagi ware.
14th Koraizaemon Saka used to work under his real name Yuta Saka, but last year he took the name Komazaemon Saka XIV and held his first solo exhibition at Takashimaya in Kyoto.
He and his wife were standing at the venue, explaining the work and the history of Hagiyaki to each customer.
Although he is still young, in his mid-30s, he is a potter who will continue to carry on the history of Hagiyaki and play an active role.
We hope that he will lead the Hagiyaki world in the future.
