Bizen potter Hiroyuki Wakimoto’s online Exhibition

“Hagiyakiya x Multiply”

This “Hagiyakiya onlineshop” was started because I took an interest in Japanese ceramic pottery culture.

This Japanese pottery culture was growing up with Japanese Matcha Tea ceramony, call “Sado” culture.
Tea masters wanted excelent “Tea tools” for example Teabowl, Water container, and the potter has created more excelent tools for the demand.
They were always going to make better things, and also, the potter is proud to be a potter with this culture.

We have been introduced you Hagi ware works as our pottery culture of hometown Yamaguchi prefecture.

From now, we are intoroducing many popular Artists in addition to Hagi ware potters and their works to all over the world through our homepage as an online exhibition.
Along with those event, we would like to introduce further increase the works and event of the Hagi ware potters.

Bizen ware Potter, Hiroyuki Wakimoto’s online exhibition.
From May 17th to 26th in 2019.

It is bout two years ago, I met Hiroyuki Wakimoto when I just decided to go and see the pottery from Yamaguchi to all over Japan.
The opportunity was the introduction from the popular potter of Hakiyaki which is introduced in our shop, Kiyoshi Yamato.
They were introduced from acquaintances of each other many years ago. They said that it did not take time for them to get along well with each other because they are same age.
Hiroyuki Wakimoto was the one that Kiyoshi Yamato mentioned the name immediately when I told to Mr. Yamto that I would like to go to Bizen.

When I first met him, I was staying in the Bizen area for only one day, so I made a visit without taking enough appointments, but he welcomed me with his wife.
In the category of potter, he is already a veteran with a history and his age, but he respond to even inexperienced me kindly, and he was keen to talk about his own passion for making ceramics.
The sharp gaze that sometimes goes to me is very impressive.
As there was a chance to go to Okayama Prefecture from Yamaguchi Prefecture for several years in private, when I went to Okayama, I was visiting him often.

Hiroyuki Wakimoto’s work further expresses the power of the soil and the attractive charm of nature from the solid image of Bizen-yaki.
In other words, nature that expresses in the soil. I would like to introduce Mr. Hiroyuki Wakimoto’s unique world, such as flower vases and incense holders.

Mr. Hiroyuki Wakimoto himself actively introduces his work through the instagram, with the use of wild flowers neaby his house, works are also taken to highlight the charm of the flower and the charm of the work.
At this event, we will also exhibit images that were expressed by Mr. Hiroyuki Wakimoto yourself, so please take a look at that as well, and refer to how to use it.
