Exhibition of Touri Yoshino who is famous Hagi yaki potter.
From September 20, 2019, we will start a special exhibition of Hagiyaki potter, Tori Yoshino.
It is the first Hagiyaki artist since starting this exhibition.
Tori Yoshino is one of the most popular potter among the Hagi ware artists.
Independent after 10 years of training at Saka Koraizaemon Kiln. The pursuit of traditional techniques, without compromising the clay work, and the stance towards ceramics that uses a wood firing kiln will naturally appear in his work, which will shake the hearts of those who see and use it.
Mr. Yoshino always tells me that “there is no more suitable soil for making Matcha teabowls than Hagi’s soil used for pottery ware”. This exhibition will introduce a number of works such as Hagiyaki matcha tea bowls that he can show us with confidence now. And also sake cups and bottles that continue to grab the heart of sake ware collectors.
Please enjoy the “Current” Hagi-yaki of Mr. Yoshino who continues to evolve still.
