From 18th Oct. Mika Sato’s exhibition.

From October 17th, we will have an exhibition by Mika Sato, a Nerikomi porcelain artist.

Mika Sato has been making Nerikomi porcelain works with kneaded pieces. It has taken over 10 years for creating her own unique technique with optically transparancy.

The colorful vessel created by the calm atmosphere of Mika Sato and unique to women, can be enjoyed in various scenes.

Due to its peculiarities, many works were lost between formation and firing, and there are not many works released to the world. However, this exhibition will introduce her popular sake cups and tea bowls.

Please take a look.

From Mika Sato’s website.

-“Nerikomi” is a kneading ceramic burned with colored clay.

Mix metal oxides and pigments into the original clay and knead the color soil one by one.

We will make out patterns while layering and combining them.-
