Tamba yaki pottery is Tamba-yaki is the Six (Seto, Tokoname, Shigaraki, Bizen and Echizen) Oldest Pottery Styles of Japan.
This Tamba yaki potter Tsuyoshi Shimizu is a young artist who has received a great deal of attention in Japanese pottery world, including being awarded at numerous pottery competition.
In this exhibition, we introduce unique and elegant works made of Tamba Yaki using iron glaze and also works made in salt kiln.
Salt Kiln “Shiogama” is a kiln where the salt which has been evaporated and turned into a gas brings out a unique texture by going through the wood firing kiln.
