Akiyoshi-dai, sight-seeing spot in Yamaguchi prefecture.

Akiyoshi-dai

I frequently come and go from Ube to Hagi city, and I’ve been hearing FM Yamaguchi radio all the time in my car.
Today I went to Hagi while listening to FM Yamaguchi’s program called Pure Morning.
Michiko Arai, a speaker, said, “Autumn Akiyoshi-dai is very nice, and in autumn it is a good sightseeing spot, and our Yamaguchi prefecture people are very happy to be able to enjoy this Akiyoshi-dai anytime”. She said so on the way.

Akiyoshi-dai is the place where the Karst plateau spreads in Mine city and it is the largest Karst plateau in Japan.

There are trails that can walk about the Karst plateau, an observatory that can see the plateau, several caves and shopping streets lined up in front of the cave. It is one of the most famous sightseeing spots in Yamaguchi prefecture.
In addition, the scenery weave in each of the four seasons is very wonderful, and we can enjoy the change of color and air of each spring, summer autumn and winter.
Depending on the season, events such as mountain burning “Yamayaki”, fireworks festival and marathon contest are also held, and it is also a place for citizens to relax and fun.

When I heard Mr. Michiko Arai is speaking so, I could not go back past Akiyoshidai any more.
Although it is a little off the usual route, I turn the steering to the right and immediately head for Akiyoshi-dai.
Akiyoshi-dai is my favorite place, it is a place where guests from outside the prefecture and abroad are sure to take, I have been visiting many times. Akiyoshi-dai is a special place for me.
Even when I lived outside Yamaguchi Prefecture, I always thought of the landscape of Akiyoshidai, it was also a trigger for my decision to go back to my hometown and do the work.

Today the autumnal weather spreaded and the weather was pleasant so I stopped the car in the parking lot near the center of the road running in the middle of Akiyoshi-dai, and I decided to climb on this mountain which I can climb by walking from there.
I often visit here when I want to feel the wind of Akiyoshi-dai, or when I want to take pictures of the sunset and the starry sky.

It is possible to climb up from the parking lot in about 10 minutes, grasshopper has taken the lead in some places on the climbing hill today. I felt that nature laughed myself walking with breathlessness due to lack of usual exercise.

Almost the top.

Today, I could see the beautiful scenery mixed with white and gray such as Susuki and limestone to the color of the earth which was a little brown, as it is in the image of autumn. I think I will find time and come here again.
